Debate & Writers Club

The Debators’ and Writers’ Club of our school is a dynamic and intellectually stimulating platform that nurtures students’ communication, critical thinking, and creative expression skills. The club brings together learners who are passionate about speaking, arguing constructively, and writing with clarity and purpose. The Debators’ section of the club provides students with opportunities to engage in formal and informal debates on a wide range of topics, including social, educational, and global issues. Through these debates, learners develop confidence in public speaking, learn how to organize their ideas logically, and gain the ability to present and defend their opinions respectfully. The club also teaches important skills such as research, listening, and teamwork, as students must understand both sides of an argument before presenting their case. Participation in inter-class and inter-school debate competitions further sharpens their abilities and exposes them to diverse perspectives. On the other hand, the Writers’ section focuses on developing students’ creativity and written communication skills. Members engage in activities such as writing essays, poems, stories, articles, and speeches. They are guided on proper grammar, structure, and style, helping them to express their thoughts clearly and effectively. The club often organizes writing workshops, competitions, and publications such as school magazines or newsletters, giving students a platform to showcase their talent and share their voices with the wider school community. Together, the Debators’ and Writers’ Club plays a crucial role in shaping well-rounded learners who can think critically, communicate effectively, and express themselves confidently both orally and in writing. It empowers students to become articulate individuals who can contribute meaningfully to discussions and society at large.
